Dr. Wojtasik, FRCP(C) - Specialist in Anesthesia

Dr. Zbigniew Wojtasik (aka ‘Zig’) is the founder of Surgiservices. He obtained his certificate of specialization in anaesthesiology  from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1988 and is presently holding a courtesy appointment with the Trillium Health Centre and the University of Toronto.

Dr. Milkovich, CCFP – Family Medicine practising anesthesia

Dr. Rob Milkovich graduated from the University of Toronto medical school in 1995 and completed his residency in Family Medicine with further training in anesthesia at Queen’s University in Kingston in 1998.  After initially practicing Emergency Medicine for 10 years he has been practicing anesthesia in Orangeville Ontario at Headwaters Healthcare Centre since 1998.  He has a special interest in out of hospital anesthesia and currently sits on the Standards Committee for the Canadian Anesthesia Society as well as an Anesthesia Assessor for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Dr. Kurrek, FRCP(C) – Specialist in Anesthesia

Dr. Matt Kurrek received his anesthesia training in Boston before moving to Canada where he is a Professor of Anesthesia at the University of Toronto. His clinical hospital appointment is at the Scarborough and Rouge Hospital and his clinical work includes regular work in out-of-hospital premises.

Dr. Cino, CCFP – Family Medicine practising anesthesia

Dr. Peter Cino graduated from Medical School at the University of Ottawa in 1990 and did a rotating internship and residency at the University of Western Ontario. He began practice in Orangeville in 1993 and has been providing anesthesia for over 20 years.  He is currently on Active Staff and Chief of Staff at the Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville, and Associate staff in the Department of Anesthesia at Brampton Civic Hospital in Brampton.  He is certified in NRP, PALS and ACLS and approved by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario as a Mobile Anesthesia Provider. With over 10,000 anesthetics over 20 plus years,  including many outpatient pediatric dental anesthetics,  Dr. Cino is pleased to be part of the team at Surgiservices and bring his experience and knowledge to provide safe outpatient anesthesia care.

Dr. Stubbs – CPSO recognized specialist in Anesthesia

Dr. Peter Stubbs joined Surgiservices in 2014. He trained at the University Hospital SUNY Upstate in New York and received his board certification from the American Board of Anesthesiology. After practicing cardiac anesthesia and being the former chief of robotic anesthesia in Syracuse, he moved to Ontario to provide care mainly in outpatient anesthesia and in community hospitals.

Dr. Kuszewski FRCP(C) – Specialist in Anesthesia

Dr. Peter Kuszewski is a RCPS(C) specialized anesthesiologist who did his FRCPC training at University of Western Ontario, London Ontario with fellowship  training at Sunnybrook (University of Toronto). He has staff privileges at JBH (Joseph Brant Hospital), Burlington and holds an appointment as Adjunct Professor at McMaster University.

Dr. Kentner, CCFP – Family Medicine practising anesthesia

Dr. Taryn Kentner graduated from medical school at the University of Western Ontario in 2008 and completed her family medicine residency with additional training in anesthesia at UWO in 2011. She has been practicing anesthesia almost exclusively since then, with extensive locum work in Northern Ontario and the Northwest Territories. She currently holds privileges at several hospitals in Ontario, and at Stanton Territorial Hospital in Yellowknife, NT.

Dr. Milone, CCFP – Family Medicine practising anesthesia

Dr. Stephen Milone graduated from medical school at the University of Toronto in 2002. He received is postgraduate training in Family Medicine and further training in anesthesia at Queen’s University. He is currently Active Staff in the Departments of Family Practice and Anesthesia at Headwaters Hospital in Orangeville.  A large part of his anesthetic practice is devoted to Pediatric anesthesia both in the hospital and in various out-of-hospital locations.

Dr. Murphy, CCFP - Family Medicine practicing anesthesia

Dr. Mark Murphy graduated from the Schulich School of Medicine at the University of Western Ontario in 2007. He completed his Family Medicine residency in 2009 and his Family Medicine-Anesthesia residency in 2010. He has practised both Anesthesia and Emergency Medicine since 2010 at Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville, ON and is the current Chief of Anesthesiology at the hospital.

Dr. Miyata, CCFP – Family Medicine practising anesthesia

Dr. Kenji Miyata, who also holds a PhD, is a member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and did further training in anesthesia. Dr. Miyata is a member of the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society and has been practicing anesthesia since 2006. He is currently an active staff member and the former Chief of the Department of Anesthesia at the Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville.

Dr. Stephen Tomini graduated from the Family Medicine residency in Thunder Bay with his Anesthesia training at McMaster (2006) after having done his undergraduate studies at Western (in Music and Science)  and his Medical School at the University of Ottawa (2003).  Dr. Tomini holds and Active staff appointment at Headwaters HCC, and Stevenson Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Mensour, CCFP - Family Medicine practising anesthesia

Dr. Mark Mensour is an Associate Professor with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.  His research interests include Procedural Sedation and Analgesia and Monitoring, Medical Education, Analgesia in the Emergency Department as well as Acute Myocardial Infarction management.  Nationally he is a course developer and instructor with CAEP’s EDTU and Emergency Medicine Review Course ACT I, II, III, IV and an Instructor for AIME and AIME Update.  Provincially he is an ACLS advisor representing for the Heart and Stroke foundation of Ontario and teaches ACLS, PALS and BLS nationally.  Most recently his interest in adult education has led him to the position of Director of CPD for the CAEP.  As a curriculum instructional designer he has created courses such as Evidence Based Resuscitation and continues to work new projects while working in Anaesthesiology and Emergency Medicine in Muskoka, Hamilton and Toronto.

Dr. Malissa Yang graduated from McMaster University Medical School in 2001 and completed her residency in Family Medicine at Queen’s University in 2003. She completed the Family Practice Anesthesia program at University of Toronto in 2005. She has been practising anesthesia since then at William Osler Health System and several out of hospital clinics.

Dr. Gold, FRCP(C) - Specialist in Anesthesia

Dr. Ileana Gold completed her anesthesia residency program at Dalhousie University in Halifax, N.S. in 1997. She is practicing anesthesia at William Osler Health System in Brampton since 1998. She has a special interest in perioperative medicine and out of hospital anesthesia.

Dr. Scholes, FRCP(C) - Specialist in Anesthesia

Dr. Cory Scholes is a practicing anesthesiologist at Joseph Brant Hospital and Brantford General Hospital.  He obtained his FRCPC in anesthesia in 2000 from McMaster University after completing his M.D. at University of Toronto in 1995.  He enjoys a mix of OR work in hospital as well as providing sedation for colonoscopy at Burlington Endoscopy and Specialist Centre, Ancaster Endoscopy Clinic and anesthesia for dental procedures in the Hamilton area.

Dr. Kaiser, CCFP - Family Medicine practicing anesthesia

Dr James Kaiser graduated from University of Toronto medical school in 1998 the Queens University Family Practice Program in 1990. After working in remote and rural locations he returned to U of T for the family practice anesthesia program in 1996. Since 2002 he has worked at the William Osler Health system in the anesthesia department.

Dr. Knapp, FRCP(C) - Specialist in Anesthesia

Dr. Knapp is a Fellowship Anesthesiologist who has been on active staff at North York General Hospital in the Department of Anesthesiology since 1994. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, Department of Anesthesiology, and is the Director of Continuing Medical Education for the Department of Anesthesia at North York General Hospital.

He graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1984 (BSc-Physiology & Pharmacology), McMaster University 1987 (MD).  He completed Anesthesiology Residency at the University of Toronto in 1993 and obtained his Fellowship in Anesthesiology from the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC). After two further post doc fellowships in Vascular (Toronto General-6 mos.) and Pediatric Anesthesia (Hospital for Sick Children-6 mos.), he joined the staff at North York General.

He has held numerous administrative, educational and leadership positions while he has been at North York General Hospital. In addition, he has been a physician ambassador for the hospital Foundation for many years, helping to raise much needed funds for the hospital.

He was on the Executive of the OMA Section on Anesthesiology from 2003-2009 serving various roles including Vice-Chair 2006-2007.

He is a member of the U of T Department of Anesthesiology Continuing Education Committee (CME), and is the Founder of Controversies in Perioperative Medicine- an Anesthesia-based International Medical conference held every 2 year in European locations.

He is very active and enjoys golfing, skiing and biking.

Dr. Szpejda, FRCP(C) - Specialist in Anesthesia

Dr. Witold ( Victor) Szpejda is a specialist in anesthesia.  Holds a certificate of specialist in anesthesia from The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada , since 1998. He is a staff anesthesiologist at the St. Cathatines General Hospital. He also provides anesthesia in out of hospital premises on regular basis.

Dr. Podhradsky, CCFP - Family Medicine practicing anesthesia

Dr. Podhradsky graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Prague, Czech Republic, in 1998 and after one year of rotations in internal medicine and anesthesia, he relocated to Canada. He completed the Rural Family Medicine program at the  University of Calgary 2001-2003 and then followed with a FP Anesthesia year in Calgary,  Alberta, which he completed in 2004. He has been in practice for 15 years, of which 13, he has been a member of Orillia SMH Anesthesia team.  Apart from anesthesia, he practices interventional pain medicine, one to two days per week on average. Outside of the OR, he enjoys outdoor activities such as skiing, cycling and water sports and he also supports local and international musical and arts scene.

Dr. Sikka, FRCP(C) - Specialist in Anesthesia

Dr. Sikka completed medical school and residency training at the University of Toronto. Her Clinical appointment is as active staff at Trilllium Health Partners where she has worked for 15 years. Dr. Sikka is a lecturer at the University of Toronto and a Royal College examiner.

Ann da Cunha, a Registered Nurse with College of Nurses of Ontario is dedicated to providing professional quality nursing care for children and adults. In her personal time she enjoys to travel and experience different cultures and foods.

Francine Mahabir, RN

Francine Mahabir graduated from George Brown College in 1976.  She has extensive pediatric experience and post operative experience having worked at Sick Children's Hospital and The Plastic Surgery Clinic.  Also has completed a post graduate OR course at George Brown and holds PALS and BLS.

Marijana Milkovich, RN

Marijana Milkovich is a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.  She received her BScN from the University of Toronto in 1994.  Marijana has extensive experience in Paediatric Nursing having worked at Sick Children’s Hospital and has also worked in Case Management for the CCAC.  She currently holds certification in PALS, ACLS, and CPR.

Iwona Wytrwal is a Registered Nurse with College of Nurses of Ontario since 1996.
Her certifications include the CNO Quality Assurance-Practice Assessment Program 2013, PALS, ACLS, CPR/AED and HCP.

Kathleen Philip, RN

Kathleen Philip is a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.  She received her BScN from the University of Toronto in 2013. 

Kathleen is certified in BLS, PALS and ALCS.  She received her Masters of Science from the University of Toronto in 1997.   Kathleen has been certified as a Registered Dietitian since 1999 and is a member of the College of the Dietitians of Ontario. She has also worked as a certified diabetes educator.

Ethel Pot, RN

Ethel is a registered nurse who has extensive experience in working in the emergency room, ICU, OR and recovery room. She currently works exclusively in office-based anesthesia.

Branka Asadi, RN

Branka graduated in 1989 from nursing school in Croatia with a speciality in pediatric nursing.  She qualified as an RN in Canada in 2001 and since then has worked mainly with pediatric patients at Bloorview Kids Rehab, as a  case manager for CCAC, and at Mackenzie Health in pediatrics and the NICU.  She is always passionate in working with kids and families.  She has been awarded a Presidents Choice award for excellence in nursing at Mackenzie Health in 2015.  She maintains certification in BLS, PALS and ACLS and has taught First Aid and CPR through the Red Cross.  She enjoys playing and teaching tennis.

Stephanie Muller, RN

Stephanie Muller is a registered nurse with the college of nurses of Ontario. She received her BScN from the University of McMaster in Hamilton in 2015. She most recently worked at SickKids Hospital in their Cardiac Critical Care Unit and presently works in an adult Intensive Care Unit at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington. She also works part time at MyKidsDentist in Oakville. She currently holds certification in PALS, ACLS and BLS.

Katherine Uysal is a Registered Nurse with over a decade of experience in the Oral Surgery clinic setting both in the OR and Recovery room. Katherine holds BLS, PALS and ACLS certifications.

Sharon Phillips, RN

Sharon Phillips. Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario since 1987. Certified BLS PALS ACLS
