Dr. Zbigniew Wojtasik (aka ‘Zig’) is the founder of Surgiservices. He obtained his certificate of specialization in anaesthesiology  from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1988 and is Anesthesia Director for The Plastic Surgery Clinic.

Dr. Rob Milkovich graduated from the University of Toronto medical school in 1995 and completed his residency in Family Medicine with further training in anesthesia at Queen’s University in Kingston in 1998.  After initially practicing Emergency Medicine for 10 years he had been practicing anesthesia in Orangeville Ontario at Headwaters Healthcare Centre since 1998.  He has a special interest in out of hospital anesthesia and currently sits on the Standards Committee for the Canadian Anesthesia Society as well as an Anesthesia Assessor for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Dr. Matt Kurrek received his anesthesia training in Boston before moving to Canada where he is a Professor of Anesthesia at the University of Toronto. His clinical work includes regular work in out-of-hospital premises for adult and pediatric patients.

Dr. Peter Stubbs joined Surgiservices in 2014. He trained at the University Hospital SUNY Upstate in New York and received his board certification from the American Board of Anesthesiology. After practicing cardiac anesthesia and being the former chief of robotic anesthesia in Syracuse, he moved to Ontario to provide care mainly in outpatient anesthesia and in community hospitals.

Tarek is a fellow of the royal college of physicians of Canada with training in anesthesiology and chronic pain medicine. He finished his residency at UofT in anesthesiology in 2016 and his fellowship in chronic pain in 2017. He also has training in cosmetic medicine since 2012 and his passion has led him to practice it in several clinics in the GTA and teach it to many practitioners. He enjoys playing various competitive sports and spending time with his family when he’s not at work. 

Dr. Stephen Milone graduated from medical school at the University of Toronto in 2002. He received is postgraduate training in Family Medicine and further training in anesthesia at Queen’s University. He is currently Active Staff in the Departments of Family Practice and Anesthesia at Headwaters Hospital in Orangeville.  A large part of his anesthetic practice is devoted to Pediatric anesthesia both in the hospital and in various out-of-hospital locations.

Dr. Mark Murphy graduated from the Schulich School of Medicine at the University of Western Ontario in 2007. He completed his Family Medicine residency in 2009 and his Family Medicine-Anesthesia residency in 2010. He has practised both Anesthesia and Emergency Medicine since 2010 at Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville, ON and is the current Chief of Anesthesiology at the hospital.

Dr. Kenji Miyata, who also holds a PhD, is a member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and did further training in anesthesia. Dr. Miyata is a member of the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society and has been practicing anesthesia since 2006. He is currently an active staff member and the former Chief of the Department of Anesthesia at the Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville.

Dr. Songbo Zheng graduated from McMaster University Medical School in 2016 and completed his residency in Family Medicine at University of Ottawa in 2018. He completed the Family Practice Anesthesia program at University of Toronto in 2019 and practises anesthesia at Woodstock General Hospital.

After completing anesthesia residency in 2001 at Queen's University in Kingston, ON, Vinod worked in Saint John, NB for 7 years. In 2008, Dr. Nair moved to Owen Sound, ON to work at Grey Bruce Health Services. During this time, he also provided anesthesia care at Out of Hospital Premises and has focused on OHP anesthesia since 2021.

Dr. Sikka completed medical school and residency training at the University of Toronto. Her Clinical appointment is as active staff at Trilllium Health Partners where she has worked for 15 years. Dr. Sikka is a lecturer at the University of Toronto and a Royal College examiner.

Ben graduated from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine in 2015, completing his training in Family Medicine with Dalhousie in Moncton in 2017, and further training in Anesthesia at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine in 2018. His practice was initially focused on travelling work in rural and remote communities in Northern Ontario, which included a large exposure to dental anesthesia for Indigenous communities. Ben and his wife settled in Kitchener closer to family and his current practice splits between in-hospital anesthesia in Stratford and out-of-hospital dental anesthesia in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge area.

Dr. Tobias Everett joined the Staff at SickKids in 2012. He is a British-trained pediatric anesthesiologist and fellow by examination of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (UK), has subspecialty certification in regional anesthesia from the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia, and is fellowship trained in pediatric anesthesia by SickKids, Toronto.

He holds a Master of Science degree in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of London, UK. He is a strong advocate of regional anesthesia and is leading several scholarly projects regarding pediatric sedation and regional anesthesia.

Everett has worked with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as faculty and director of their National Simulation Education and Training program, and on the Canadian National Anesthesia Simulation Curriculum. Everett has received international awards for his work in simulation-based medical education and multiple awards for his various teaching activities within anesthesia and beyond.

Dr. Aaron Lau is an Anesthesiologist who completed his residency training at the University of British Columbia. He currently practices within Trillium Health Partners and Halton Healthcare. His research interests include the advancement of perioperative medical care and regional anesthesia.

Dr. Stephen Tomini graduated from the Family Medicine residency in Thunder Bay with his Anesthesia training at McMaster (2006) after having done his undergraduate studies at Western (in Music and Science)  and his Medical School at the University of Ottawa (2003).  Dr. Tomini holds and Active staff appointment at Headwaters HCC, and Stevenson Memorial Hospital.

She has been practicing anesthesia almost exclusively since then, with extensive locum work in Northern Ontario and the Northwest Territories. Dr. Zarina Kassam is an anesthesiologist with 35+ years of experience at Trillium Health Partners, primarily practicing at Queensway Health Centre and Mississauga Hospital. Earlier in her career, she worked at Wellesley Hospital and Women’s College Hospital in Toronto.

Dr. Kassam is a graduate of the University of Bristol (MB ChB 1974) and the University of Toronto (FRCP 1982). She has also served as a lecturer at the University of Toronto (Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine).
